Some wedding dresses are found. Others are created.
From the first conversation to the final adjustments, a dress made especially for you begins with what you want to express.
It may start with an existing design that we adapt together, or with an entirely new idea.
At IULIA BALAN, the process is personal. Every choice — from silhouette and fabric to the final details — becomes part of your dress’s story.
THE PROCESS

The first meeting
Everything begins with a conversation. Tell us what you imagine, what you love and how you would like to feel on your wedding day.
Together, we explore silhouettes, fabrics and design directions until the idea begins to take shape.
The initial consultation is free and can take place online or at the Bucharest atelier, by appointment.

Fabrics and details
Fabrics, embroidery and details are selected during the consultation, according to the chosen design and how the dress should fit and move.
We work with natural silk, fine chiffon, silk satin, Chantilly lace and other premium textiles, selected to suit the design.
Some of the materials we use are OEKO-TEX® certified.

The fittings
For a dress made to individual specifications, we agree on the stages of creation and the fittings required.
Typically, around two to three fittings are planned, depending on the complexity of the design and the adjustments needed.
The aim is a dress with the right proportions that feels comfortable when you wear it.

The handover
After the final adjustments, the dress is carefully prepared for handover.
It can be collected in person from the Bucharest atelier or sent by courier, according to the agreed option.
The dress is pressed and packed in a protective garment bag suited to its fabric.

TIMELINE
The estimated production time for Bridal dresses is six to eight months, depending on the design’s complexity, the requested customisation and the atelier’s availability.
The timeline for each order is agreed and confirmed in writing during the consultation, before the order is confirmed.
LOCATION
Our atelier is in Bucharest.
The Bridal consultation is free and can take place online or in the atelier.
Visits and fittings at the atelier are by appointment.
